Our ambition is to improve the quality of life and advance health outcomes for patients by being the global leader in providing effective and simple technologies for the management of sleep apnea and related health conditions, where our unique medical and engineering expertise make a difference.

We are engineers and physicians who have a passion for innovative technology and advancing health outcomes in the area of sleep and related health areas. Our journey began in 2008 with three scientific medical inventors Douglas Bradley, Hisham Alshaer and Geoff Fernie, who accepted a challenge to find a simpler method to diagnose sleep apnea with accuracy whilst reducing the costs for our healthcare system, and advancing health outcomes.

BresoTEC was founded in 2012 by UHN and MaRS Innovation, and the scientific cofounder Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI), the world’s leading rehabilitation research centre.

Committed to our foundation of engineering, quality, and simplicity we began designing and developing products to increase access to diagnosis and care for people living with sleep apnea.

Several patent families have been filed in Canada, the US, Europe, and China covering breath monitoring and sleep apnea detection methods, analysis and software algorithm and industrial design.

We are able to build a strong portfolio by developing complex technologies that are mechanically scaled down to unmatched simplicity so that patients will benefit from intuitive technologies.

BresoTEC’s leadership brings extensive knowledge in acoustics and engineering, medical and scientific technology, and product commercialization.
Together, they all share a common passion to increase patient accessibility by designing innovative products that shape the future in health care.

Peter Bloch has more than 25 years of experience in leading healthcare and technology companies in the role of Chairman, CEO and previously CFO. This includes experience in both large Pharmaceutical (Sanofi -Aventis) and earlier stage Medical Device and Biotechnology companies (Bionik Laboratories, Tribute Pharmaceuticals and Intellivax).

Douglas Bradley, MD, FRCPC, FCAHS
Chief Medical Officer, Co-Founder and Co-Inventor

Dr. Bradley is a Respirologist, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Respirology, and of the Centre for Sleep Medicine and Circadian Biology at the University of Toronto. He directs the Sleep Research Laboratories of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Toronto General Hospital, and holds the Clifford Nordal Chair in Sleep Apnea and Rehabilitation Research. He has published over 260 papers and book chapters on sleep apnea and related topics.

Jackson Yu, B.Sc. Electrical Engineering
VP of Engineering

Jackson Yu comes with 17 years’ experience from medical device leadership roles in research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. He led the lifecycle management of professional and consumer esthetics products for Illuminage Beauty. As part of this, he led the engineering team through two mergers and an acquisition.
